Batteries Directive
On 5 May 2009, the Government laid down new regulations about the collection and recycling of batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries) in the UK.

The regulations affect anyone who puts portable batteries/accumulators (rechargeable batteries), or products that contain portable batteries/accumulators onto the UK market for the first time.

Supacell™ is committed to the environment and is a registered member of an approved Battery Compliance Scheme (BCS). The BCS will arrange for the collection, treatment and recycling of waste batteries on our behalf. For a list of BCS members go to:

Members of the public will be encouraged to keep batteries separate from other waste and to take advantage of whatever collection arrangements are available locally. More information about how and where to dispose of batteries can be found on the Environment Agency web site.
